5 Hours in an Airplane Bathroom! | Potty Time with POTTYMINTS (Ep. 33)

Gooooooood Morning Potty People!

Welcome back to another fantastic episode of Potty Time with POTTYMINTS!

As always, we are so glad you could join us for our first blog of 2022… we think have a good one in store for you!

As the weather begins to get colder, the snow begins to form, and the roads begin to close… we are all thinking about one thing… Vacation!

Whether your destination is somewhere on a warm beach, laying in the sunshine, or maybe hitting the slopes with your family on a Ski Trip…

We all can agree that the worst part of Vacations are the flights.

We have all sat next to “the crying baby”…

We have all wrestled our neighbors for the armrest…

We have all gotten on a plane expecting Inflight Entertainment … and yet the airline appears to have not paid their Cable bill…

Trust us… We’ve been there

But we have never heard of a flight story like this…

For our Main Story this week, we go to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport where we meet Marissa Fotieo!

Marissa, a teacher from Michigan, was traveling to Iceland with her father and brother aboard Icelandair

Midway through the flight Marissa began to experience a bit of a sore throat…

She had already tested herself before the flight, taking two PCR tests and about five rapid tests, all of which came back negative…

But Marissa was suspicious…

"The wheels started turning in my brain and I thought, 'OK, I'm going to just go take a test.' It was going to make me feel better…"

Marissa took out her Covid Test kit, and completed it…

Almost immediately… the test came back positive

As the plane was crossing over the Atlantic Ocean… Marissa began to panic

While Marissa was thankfully both vaccinated and boosted, she was still Highly infectious aboard a 5-Hour Plane Ride to Iceland!

The flight attendant named Rocky said she did what she could to try to rearrange seats so Marissa could be seated in a spot alone, but the flight was full.

There seemed to be only one viable solution at this point… Quarantine in the Airplane Bathroom.

So for the remainder of the flight to Iceland, Marissa sat in the Icelandair Bathroom Stall and was provided water and snacks to make her feel more comfortable.

She documented her insane Bathroom experience on Tiktok, in a story you have to see to believe!

Marisa has since recovered and look forward to her next trip to Iceland to see Rocky again!

We figured we had to “Share” that “Viral” Story with you… (see what we did there)

(*Also just a friendly reminder to go get Vaccinated and Boosted*)

Let’s get into this week’s Potty Picks!

As we all unfortunately learned on New Year’s Day, American Actress and Comedic Icon – Betty White – passed away at the age of 99. 18 Days away from her 100th Birthday.

When asked about her life in 2014, she said “I have no regrets at all. None. I consider myself to be the luckiest old broad on two feet.”

We are not going to lie… this one hurt, Betty White was a National Treasure and truly was the gift that kept on giving.

At 88, Betty White became the oldest person to Host Saturday Night Live, and her performance that night showed the world that Betty never lost a step.

Please enjoy our Video of the Week

On behalf of all of us, thank you Betty White for being our friend.

We have said it once and we will say it again… Showering with Music is a GAME CHANGER!

Think of it as that extra espresso shot you put in your coffee – that extra jolt of energy you need for the day!

Listening to music in the shower has actually been proven to reduce stress, can help with memory retention, and of course it just feels great!

But what music to listen to? We’ve got you covered with this week’s Potty Picks!

Here are our 5 Potty Picks for this week, featuring some of our favorite Shower Music!

  1. “Inspiration Information” - Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings
  2. “Animal Spirits” – Vulfpeck
  3. “I Want You Back” – The Jackson 5
  4. “I Need Never Get Old” – Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
  5. “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” – Michael Jackson

We have to share with you The Holy Grail of Bathroom Moments of the Week… we assure you

Sometimes the Bathroom Gods smile upon you – and this week it seems they have done exactly that.

You may have heard of a up and coming show called – The Office

Well… this week Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute and the entire team at Dunder Mifflin released a hilarious never-before-seen cold open from The Office season 4.

Our only question is… HOW DIDN’T THIS MAKE IT INTO THE SHOW!?!?!?!

Thank you all for joining us for another episode of Potty Time with POTTYMINTS

We love putting together these blogs, sharing these unique and funny stories with you all – and hopefully providing you with some fun reading each week!

We continue to be amazed that so many of you decide to spend part of your morning… or Bathroom Break with us!

Remember that wherever you decide to take your Bathroom Break… Bring a POTTYMINT!

Lastly, we like to conclude our blogs with a quote for the week ahead, and this week, our quote honors another legend we recently lost last week - Sidney Poitier.

For those of you that are unfamiliar, Sidney Poitier was Hollywood's first Black movie star and the first Black man to win the best actor Oscar.

We figured we would honor him and his legacy with the following quote from him:

“If I'm remembered for having done a few good things, and if my presence here has sparked some good energies, that's plenty.”

Sidney Poitier

Thank you again for joining us, and we will see you next Monday for another episode of Potty Time with POTTYMINTS!

Have a great week, and stay safe!
