🎸🚽 Toilet Tunes: The Unlikely Birthplace of Hit Songs 🚽🎸 | Potty Time with POTTYMINTS (Ep. 73)

Gooooood Morning POTTY People!

Welcome to the first official day of Spring!

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and birds are singing!

Speaking of singing…

This beautiful weather makes us want to belt out our favorite songs in the bathroom!

And we are not alone…

You see, some of the most recognizable songs of all time were actually written in the bathroom!

From The Beatles, to Post Malone, to Billy Joel, and Ed Sheeran… they have all written some timeless classics on the toilet!

So for this week’s Main Story, we discuss the infamous songs written in the bathroom!

Lets begin with the widely accepted GOAT (Greatest of All Time)... Paul McCartney

McCartney has written such classics as “Hey Jude”, “Let it Be”, and  “Blackbird” to name a few

Anyone who has a family member who has picked up an acoustic guitar is all too familiar with these songs…

One of his most popular songs, “Yesterday” was written in a bathroom

The star, who penned his first song when he was 14, added: "The trick is to go off on your own and finish it…

"Go into the toilet - toilets are good. Separate yourself."

The Beatle is not alone in this respect, you see some other classic songs have been written in a bathroom!

Take for instance Kenny Rodgers classic love song: “Lady”

Sorry to all the hopeless romantics out there… but this timeless classic was actually written by Lionel Richie…

…who wrote the song not on the ceiling… but on the toilet!

After recording the first verse, Rogers wanted to proceed but someone in the studio told him that Richie was writing the remaining part of the track in the toilet.

“when the time came to do the second verse I wasn’t ready so… I had to go down the hall and finish it.”

Let's do one more for good measure… Ed Sheeran!

These days, you can’t turn on the radio, go to a wedding, or just exist in the real world without knowing a song that Ed Sheeran wrote, or helped craft!

Justin Bieber’s song “Love Yourself”, One Direction’s “Little Things”, Taylor Swift’s “Everything Has Changed”... all written by Ed Sheeran!

His secret… you guessed it… "I write my best songs in the toilet" singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran

“I find that I write all my songs now in hotel bathrooms because of the ambience and it sounds really nice”

We figured to round this bathroom songwriting piece off, we would include a quick list of other songs that were also crafted on the toilet for your viewing pleasure!

  • “Rock Around the Clock” - Bill Haley & The Comets
  • “Whole Lotta Love” - Led Zeppelin
  • “Sweet Child of Mine” - Guns N’ Roses
  • “She’s Always a Woman” - Billy Joel

And trust us… the list goes on…

But so too does this blog… so lets get into this weeks Potty Picks!

This week, we honor another GOAT… and a personal favorite, Mel Brooks

There are great comedians… and then there is Mel Brooks

His comedy is timeless perfection, and we figured in honor of his reboot of History of the World: Part I

We would share with you one of our favorite moments from the original film, which perfectly spoofs “The Last Supper”

So without further ado… we present to you our Video of the Week…

    Bathroom Moment of the Week:

This week we discovered the newest internet trend… and to be honest, we were not mentally prepared for this one.

It seems that people are detaching their Toilet Seats and cleaning it by putting it into their dishwasher…

    Yes, you read that correctly…

We will remind you all kindly… you do not want our search history

If you haven’t seen it yet, it goes down exactly how it sounds.

The TikToker unscrewed their toilet seat and placed it in the empty dishwasher. “I never knew people did this,” the caption read, but you don’t actually see the end result of the supposed wash.

That didn’t matter to some users, who quickly chastised the TikToker for doing it.

“Absolutely foul,” said one. “You can’t eat at everybody house…,” added another. “I’m never buying a second-hand dishwasher,” another commented.

To be clear… if you are washing your toilet seat in the dishwasher… you are immediately disqualified from hosting dinner parties
