Gooooooooood Morning POTTY People!
Welcome to the last day of January… and what a month it has been!
We don’t know about you, but we are still at that point in the new year where we are writing “21”… scratching it out and writing “22”
Well… it’s that time of year again… Super Bowl Sunday is approaching… yay?
While we will admit Football is a goofy sport… we happen to love the Super Bowl
Never before has such an overtly testosterone-based sport had so much pageantry.
Think about it… most of the people watching are looking forward to Halftime or the commercials…
Literally any moment that isn’t the game itself.
While there have been many Halftime Shows in our lifetimes… there are a few that “stick out” …Pun Intended
We are of course talking about Janet Jackson’s infamous Halftime Show moment with Justin Timberlake
While most of us have forgotten this Halftime Moment…
Now commonly referred to as “Nipplegate”
…we simply have not.
We continue to ask ourselves almost daily…
Was Janet Jackson infamous 2004 Halftime Show “MOMENT” Planned or a Wardrobe Malfunction?
Clearly this needs to be researched more… making it our Main Story of the week.
While 2004 seems like it was literal decades ago… that is because… for the most part… it was
Let us quickly take you back to 2004:
Facebook had just been invented… Anchorman just came out… and Lindsay Lohan was attempting a singing career.
Justin Timberlake had successfully singlehandedly brought “Sexy-Back” and was rewarded for doing so by performing with Janet Jackson during the Super Bowl Halftime show!
For those in need of a reminder… After a medley of songs performed by Janet, she was joined on stage by Justin to perform his hit song “Rock Your Body”…
During the final seconds of the performance, Janet’s outfit was ripped off – revealing her breast to the millions of viewers around the world.
Both artists have argued the moment was “Unintentional…” or an “Accident”
We have to be honest… we are in the business of keeping what happens in the Bathroom, in the Bathroom… But we smell some Bull Sh*t!
Exhibit A: READ THE LYRICS!!!
Justin Timberlake was on top of the WORLD in 2004… he had so many songs to choose from!
“Sexyback”, “My Love”, “Lovestoned/I Think She Knows”…
He literally could have chosen any of those songs…
But they chose to perform “Rock Your Body”… what the kids would now say is a “certified classic banger” (a great song)
BUT… If you recall the last lyric to Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body”
“Better have you naked by the end of this song…”
Well, Justin… Mission Accomplished!
Exhibit B: THE NIPPLE!
We have seen our fair share of nipples… we have never seen a nipple like Mrs. Jacksons
While it was only shown for a few moments… Everyone at home asked themselves the same question when the Live TV feed quickly went to commercial break.
“What was on her nipple?”
WITH Precision Accuracy – people used the newly available “TIVO” option on their TV to rewind and asses the situation
Like an NFL Football Referee… the viewing audience at home began to slow down the clip… looking for “Illegal Contact”
The Nipple in question appeared to be adorned with a silver sun- with, (and we wish we were joking) her nipple as the core.
We breast our case…
Let’s get into this week’s POTTY Picks!
Since that first story ran a bit long… we will keep this next one shorter and still in the year 2004…
Before the days of Instagram, Before Facebook or Tik Tok
One of the biggest stories that year, was Ashlee Simpson’s failed Saturday Night Live performance
While many have graced the SNL stage… to that point, no one lip-synched their performance
Watch as Ashley seems to channel her inner Gwen Stefani , do a little dance and then suddenly… like the world’s most impressive ventriloquist sing… while she rushes off the stage in confusion.
Not going to lie… her Band really through her under the tour bus…
Watch as they smirk at each other – realizing that her, and their career is over…
While we wish Ashlee and her band the best… we are reminded of one of our favorite Family Guy moments….
We decided that for the sake of the new year, we would finish off our last Potty Picks playlist, and start a-new!
For those of you new to the blog, or you just didn’t hear… in this section of the blog, we feature 5 hand selected songs for the week ahead.
Not the same 4 songs you hear on the Radio… Not the music your kids listen to on Tik Tok… but great quality, new music… and this week is no exception!
We figured we would stick with the 2004 theme…
2004 was a Treasure Trove of Fantastic Music… and to be honest… it was tough to choose only 5 songs.
So here are our Top 5 Songs of 2004…
- “Mr. Brightside” – The Killers
- “Take Me Out” – Franz Ferdinand
- “These Words” – Natasha Beddingfield
- “Hey Ya!” – Outkast
- “This Love” – Maroon5

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
Maya Angelou
