🎸🚽'Love Me Loo': John Lennon's Toilet 🚽🎸| Potty Time with POTTYMINTS (Ep. 69)

Goooood Morning POTTY People!

While we have discussed some famous toilets on previous episodes of the blog…

From Gold Toilets to Ancient Toilets to Portable Toilets… To Stolen Toilets!

We are “flushed” with Potty News…

So when we discovered that there was a new contender for the most expensive toilet…

And that, this particular toilet…

Belonged to John Lennon of this little up and coming group called  “The Beatles”

We figured we had to share it with you all

For this Week's Main Story we go to the Liverpool Beatles Museum, where we get an inside look at… John’s Lennon’s “john”

We all know, or have that one friend who is OBSESSED with the music of The Beatles

And for good reason too… they are without a doubt one of the greatest bands of all time

Well… since inspiration can come at any moment, there is no doubt some of the greatest songs ever written… were in fact written… on a toilet

As they had done in Liverpool, it was the toilet and bathroom where McCartney and Lennon found their inspiration—using the room’s acoustics to help him formulate some songs.

So when it was announced that John Lennon’s toilet was up for auction… Beatles fanatics spared no expense

In fact, John Lennon’s Toilet was sold for… $14,740.00

The loo once once sat proudly at Lennon and Yoko Ono's home in Berkshire and has been loaned to the museum by the new owner.

It came from Tittenhurst Park where Lennon lived with Yoko Ono from 1969 to 1971, and where Lennon composed “Imagine”

One viewer joked the toilet could have helped the couple "spend a Penny Lane" while another urged pun-makers to simply "Let it Pee".

Museum owner Roag Best said: "The man contacted us, told us it was just sitting in his house gathering dust, and asked would we like to put it on display in the museum?

"We thought, 'Well, it's a bit quirky, it's not what we'd normally display but who's to say what you should and shouldn't display, so, come on, we'll give it a go'."

We will admit, this toilet is absolutely gorgeous… and you know us, potties are kind of our thing.

One could even say… we “Love Me Loo”

Let's get into this week's Potty Picks!

There are comedians…. and then there is Steve Martin

While the word “Genius” gets thrown around a lot these days… Steve Martin is undoubtedly deserving of this type of praise.

Whether you are a fan of his revolutionary Stand Up Comedy….

His movies like “Father of the Bride”, “The Three Amigos” or “The Jerk”...

His 5 Grammy Awards for his Bluegrass group…

Or perhaps you are just finding out about Mr. Martin from his new show, “Only Murders In the Building”

Trust us when we say… we can go on ….

In fact, his accomplishments are so extensive… even Wikipedia gave him his own page… just for his awards and nominations

What many of you may not know about Steve, is that his career began as a kid, working at Disneyland in California.

Steve spent three years at “Merlin’s Magic Shop” in Fantasyland, where he not only became a great magician… but learned the art of performance!

“The arrow-through-the-head was a thing we used to sell at Disneyland,” Martin recalled. “It was just so silly. It was like anti-comedy.”

So for this weeks Video Of the Week, we present to you one of our favorite Late Night Television appearances from Steve Martin, as he performs a magic routine called: “The Great Flydini”

We dont know about you Potty People… but as we approach the New Year… you will begin to notice people beginning to go to the gym

This can only mean one thing… you are in need of some new music to listen to while on the elliptical machine

Well… lucky for you… you happen to be reading a blog that can provide you with such a soundtrack

In fact, that's the entire point of this section of the blog!

This week, we feature 5 songs from:

  • “This Year” - Emily King
  • “Black Heart” - Stealth, The Dap-Kings
  • “1 Thing” - Amerie
  • “Late at Night - Moods Remix” - Benny Sings, Moods
  • “Rock Your Body” - Justin Timberlake

  •

For this Weeks Bathroom Moment of the Week… we go to Denver, Colorado

Specifically, to the home of newly acquired, Super Bowl Winning, Quarterback for the Denver Broncos, Russel Wilson.

Russell Wilson’s contract paid the man $245 Million Dollars for a five year deal… and to this point it has not gone too well

In fact, it's gone so incredibly poorly… fans have begun to compare his on field performance… to the number of Bathrooms Wilson has in his new Denver home.

For those of you wondering - Russel Wilson has 12 Bathrooms

And for those of you curious… in 11 games so far, Wilson has 8 touchdowns.

This has led fans each week to ask the question:

Will Russel Wilson throw as many touchdown passes as he has bathrooms in his home?

For those of you who need the visual aid… not to worry, as “Broncos Country” is keeping track for you

With 4 games left in the season… on behalf of the Potty People, we are praying for you Russel

Thank you as always to those of you that take a small moment out of your day and share it with us!

Speaking of sharing, we would absolutely love it if you shared this blog with someone you think would love it!

… and while on the subject of sharing… we can't leave you all for the week without sharing a quote for you for the week ahead

This week, we give you a quote from writer, speaker and self-styled "philosophical entertainer" - Alan Watts.

“Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun.”

    Alan Watts

We hope each and everyone of you has an incredible week ahead!

As we head into the last couple weeks of 2022… ask yourself, “What lessons did you learn this past year?”

Hopefully these lessons inform the actions and the lives we live in the coming year!
